Via Dolorosa Documentary Screened at International Events in Oslo and Brussels

The documentary Via Dolorosa, directed by Amira Hanania, continues to reach international audiences through a series of high-level screenings and discussions across Europe, serving as a platform to share the history and lived experience of Palestinian Christians.

Following its presentation at the international conference “The Secularization of Christian Zionism in Europe” in Oslo, the film was screened before religious leaders, academics, diplomats, and policymakers participating in discussions on the Palestinian Christian narrative and the broader situation in Palestine. The documentary documents the history of Palestinian Christians while highlighting the experiences of communities living under occupation.

The film was later presented in Brussels during a meeting between the Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine and leading European civil society organizations. Participants viewed Via Dolorosa as part of a broader discussion addressing the challenges facing the historic Palestinian Christian presence in the Holy Land and the importance of preserving this centuries-old community.  

Each screening was followed by discussions with participants on the role of documentary filmmaking in preserving historical memory, fostering dialogue, and increasing international awareness of Palestinian Christian heritage. The conversations also explored ways to strengthen international advocacy and support for the continued presence of Palestinian Christians in their historic homeland.
